Finding the perfect wedding photo + video duo
As a wedding filmmaker based in Spokane, one of my favorite parts of the job is teaming up with talented photographers to tell a couple’s story in the most authentic and impactful way possible. Wedding days are full of fleeting, emotional, once-in-a-lifetime moments—and capturing them well takes more than just one perspective. That’s why I don’t approach a wedding with a “me vs. them” mindset when it comes to vendors. I believe in true collaboration.
When a photographer and videographer are aligned creatively, communicate well, and genuinely respect each other's craft, it shows in the final product. From the quiet moments of getting ready to the wild joy of the dance floor, we each bring our unique strengths to the table, and when we’re working in sync, we’re able to elevate each other’s work. That kind of teamwork allows us to create imagery and films that not only look beautiful, but feel deeply personal and unforgettable.
Choosing the right photographer isn’t just about style or pricing—it’s about chemistry with the team that will be documenting your day. Here are five of my favorite Spokane-area wedding photographers whose creative direction, storytelling approach, and overall vibe make them amazing collaborators on any wedding day.

Caleb & britt photography
Caleb & Britt Photography is a husband-and-wife team that I picked to be my own wedding photographer! They are known for an intentional and refined approach to documenting weddings. Their style merges timeless elegance with emotive storytelling. As a duo shooting with two perspectives, they capture every extraordinary moment from multiple angles, ensuring no special memory goes unnoticed. They pride themselves on preserving both grand celebrations and delicate details.

Kali Hylton Photography
Kali Hylton loves connecting with people and hearing their stories. She strives to create beautiful, timeless images that give you a sense of nostalgia when you look back on your wedding day. Kali’s philosophy is all about simplicity and honesty – she captures those candid, fun, and heartfelt moments, as well as the quiet, simple ones that often mean the most. Her shooting style is a unique blend of documentary, editorial, and classic vibes.

Quote: Brent Looyenga
"I love wedding photography for so many reasons. It’s such a huge day; there are so many people and things going on, and I have the privilege of capturing each person, each moment, forever. I love all the details and thought that goes into everything, I love watching the couple interact, hearing their expressions when they see each other, and being a part of such an awesome day. In all of it, being able to capture people, capture smiles and moments, so they can be remembered forever is a highlight for me."

Shanoah Bri Photography
Shanoah Bri brings a heartfelt, documentary-style approach to wedding photography, focusing on capturing how your day felt and how it looked. She describes her style as “candid, authentic, timeless,” which means she’s all about real moments and genuine emotions over stiff, posed shots. On your wedding day Shanoah will certainly curate some beautiful portraits, but sbut she primarily lets the magic unfold naturally – snapping those little laughs you share when no one’s watching, the happy tears, etc.

Jennifer Debarros Photography
Jennifer DeBarros specializes in joyful, heartfelt wedding photography with a timeless touch. She sees photography as “a celebration of life” and believes its true magic lies in freezing a moment – a feeling, a tiny detail – so that years later, your photographs become a return ticket to those memories. Jennifer is more than just a photographer snapping pics; she genuinely wants to be part of your story and give you an unforgettable experience from start to finish.

While I specialize in videography, I have ample experience as a wedding photographer. My focus is more of a wallflower approaching, letting moments happen, and capturing everything in between.
While I love photography, I love working with everyone above even more, and I love collaborating with photographers to ensure you have the best wedding imagery possible.

I’ve had the absolute pleasure of working alongside each of the photographers mentioned above, and I can honestly say they’re not just incredibly talented—they’re kind, professional, and passionate about what they do.
When you hire a photographer who aligns with your values and shares your vision for the day, it creates space for truly magical storytelling, and when that energy is matched with a videographer who’s just as invested? That’s when the real magic happens.
If you’re in the process of choosing a wedding photographer, I encourage you to think beyond just style or pricing. Look for someone whose work resonates with you emotionally, and whose personality feels like a natural fit. You deserve a team that will not only capture your wedding beautifully, but will also support your experience and celebrate your story along the way.
When photographers and videographers work as a team—not in competition—we create space for authentic, joyful imagery that reflects who you truly are. So if you’re ready to build your dream photo + video team, these five artists are a fantastic place to start. And if I’m lucky enough to be your videographer, I’d love nothing more than to collaborate with any of them to help bring your wedding story to life.
