“We are beyond grateful that we hired Johnathan as our wedding videographer. He is a true artist and he captured our day perfectly, from every big moment to the tiniest details. Every time we watch the video it brings us right back to the emotions of that day. Johnathan’s creativity, attention to detail, and ability to capture the little moments are unmatched. Having him as our wedding videographer was the best decision we made for our wedding, and we will treasure the video forever. Thank you, Johnathon!”

MEET YOUR ADVENTURE FILMMAKER & PHOTOGRAPHER

About a decade ago, I was stuck at a dull advertising agency, dreaming of something more meaningful. Then a friend brought me along to my first wedding shoot, and I was hooked.

I still love weddings, but my creative heart sings loudest out in the wild with couples who choose the day they actually want. Sometimes that’s a slow morning with nowhere to be. Sometimes it’s a 2am alarm, too much coffee, and dodging elk on the drive in, all to catch the two of you under an alpenglow sunrise.

Chances are, you love the same kind of days I do: the ones that start with coffee, end with tired legs, and leave you thinking, “I wish we could live that again.”

You feel most like yourselves outside, moving through the world together. Not performing, not hosting, not doing things just because they look good to others.

So you’re skipping the traditional venue for an intimate experience that actually reflects your relationship and the life you’re building. A day shaped around your shared rhythms, your comfort, and the landscapes that mean something to you, with your closest people along for it or just the two of you.

Your traditions, your rules, your way. If that sounds like you, you’re in the right place.

You already know you don’t want:

  • A schedule you’re sprinting to keep up with
  • Formalities squeezed in just because someone else expects them
  • Saying your vows in front of a crowd if that doesn’t feel like you
  • Managing logistics when you should be living your day
  • Posing through moments that should just happen

Your day feels more like this:

  • A day that tells your story, start to finish
  • Space to move slowly, take it in, and actually feel what’s happening
  • A plan that bends when the weather does, rain or shine
  • Vows shared between just the two of you, or with your closest people
  • Time with your people that feels like an adventure, not a reception
  • The freedom to show up exactly as you are

Most importantly, you get to be together, fully in it. Leave the remembering to me.

What Keeps Me Creating.

I. Your Story Comes First

Your elopement doesn’t create something new. It reflects everything you’ve already built together. That’s why I take the time to get to know the two of you, how you move together, and what matters most to you. Your day gets built around your story rather than the most epic view, and your film tells that story back honestly.

II. Be In It, Not On Display

This isn’t a photoshoot. It’s your wedding day, and you deserve to actually live it. I’ll guide you when it helps and step back when it doesn’t, so the real moments have room to happen on their own. I’ll never force in a formality or ask you to perform for the camera.

III. Come As You Are

Love is love, and yours doesn’t need to fit a mold to be celebrated. No matter your race, who you love, how you express yourselves, or what your body looks like or can do, you’re welcome here, and you’ll never be asked to shrink yourselves to make anyone else comfortable.

The same goes for the outdoors. You don’t need to be a hiker or look like the couples on your feed to elope somewhere beautiful. Some of my favorite celebrations happened at a pull-off on the side of the road, a few steps from the car, with a view that rivaled any summit.

IV. Leave It Wild

Getting to film in these places is a privilege, and I treat it like one. I follow Leave No Trace on every shoot, which means we stay where we’re allowed to be and leave every spot exactly as we found it. These landscapes become part of your story, and they deserve to stay wild for the couples who come after you.

Why Every Collection is a Full Day

Every collection here is built on a full day, and that's on purpose.

I’ve watched couples try to squeeze a sunrise, a hike, vows, portraits, and dinner into a few hours. The day turns into a race against the clock, and the moments you planned for months fly by before you can feel them. The fun of eloping disappears, and it starts to feel like the stressful wedding you were trying to avoid in the first place.

Even with the best planning, something will go wrong. A storm rolls in, a road closes, or the ferry to your island shuts down for the day. That’s not a disaster. It’s half the fun of eloping, and those detours usually turn into the stories you tell for years.

A full day gives us room for all of it. Without the clock hanging over you, you stop thinking about the camera, and that’s when your film starts to feel like you.

This is why I love full-day coverage. Not because more hours is “more content,” but because it gives you room for:

  • slow mornings
  • privacy
  • weather shifts
  • a backup plan (or two)
  • detours you didn’t see coming
  • multiple locations
  • golden hour without rushing
  • time with your closest people
  • reading letters to each other
  • forgetting the camera is there
  • time to eat, breathe, and actually be present

Frequently Asked Questions:

Where do you film?

Spokane is home base, but I’ll go wherever your story takes us. I film all over Washington and North Idaho, and I’ll happily pack a bag for anywhere in the western US, from the Oregon coast to Alaska. Dreaming even farther? Multi-Day travels anywhere.

Is travel really included?

Yes, all of it. Gas, flights, hotels, and taxes are baked into your collection, so you’ll never get a surprise travel invoice from me. If I’m flying in, I land at least two days early, because nobody wants their filmmaker sprinting from the airport to the ceremony.

Can we bring people?

Please do. Some of my favorite days are the ones where your closest people come along for the adventure, whether that’s a ranch weekend, a day out on the water, or a long dinner that runs way past sunset. You can bring up to 50 guests.

Do you help with planning?

As much or as little as you want. If I’m your lead vendor, I’ll help you find the spot, map out the timing, and sort out permits. If your photographer is already steering the ship, I’ll happily jump in alongside them.

Do you offer photography?

I do! I offer elopement photography too, and I work with a few photographers I trust when you want photo and film covered at the same time. Mention it on the form and I’ll build a custom collection around it.

What if the weather turns?

Then we roll with it. That’s exactly why every collection is a full day. Rain, wind, or a closed road just means we switch to plan B (or C), and some of the best moments happen right after the plan goes out the window.

Do you fly a drone?

I do, and I’m FAA-certified. I only fly where it’s legal, which means no drones in national parks, but there’s no shortage of places out West where we can get those big, sweeping shots. I'll be sure to check your location and keep you updated on wether we can fly or not.

When will we get our films?

Your Social Teaser comes first, so you’ve got something to share while I edit the rest. Everything else lands within four months, usually sooner, and once it’s all ready, we celebrate with a reveal.

Ready to Book? Here's your next steps:

1. Say Hello

Fill out the form and tell me what you’re dreaming up. I’ll send over my full pricing guide, and we’ll find a time to talk.

2. Discovery Call

Our call is all about understanding what you want your elopement to feel like. We can talk over Zoom or by phone for as long as you’d like, about where you’re thinking, who you want there, and what matters most to you. From there, we’ll find the collection that best fits your day.

3. Reserve Your Date

After our call, I’ll send a proposal that lays out your day and every film you’ll receive, so you know exactly what’s included before you sign. Once it’s signed and your retainer is in, your date is officially yours.

Don’t have a final location yet? That’s totally normal. Lock in your date now, and we’ll find the right spot together.

4. Plan Together

Planning starts with the experience, not the camera. When your day is built around what you love, with room to breathe and a backup plan for the weather, your film comes together naturally and ends up honest and real. I’m as involved as you want me to be, from scouting locations to finding local resources. Whether you’re picturing a sunrise hike, a ranch weekend with your favorite people, or a slow evening by the lake, I’ll help you shape a day that feels like the two of you.

Already have a team in place? I’ll work directly with your planner or coordinator, your photographer, and any other vendors, so you never have to worry about getting everyone on the same page.

5. You elope!

On the day, my job is to keep things calm so you can stay in the moment. Most of the time, I’m documenting what’s happening as it happens, without stopping you to recreate it. When it’s time for portraits, I’ll give you just enough direction that you never feel unsure, then step back so it still feels like you.

I also bring a bag of extras, like hand warmers, protein bars, bug spray, sunscreen, and whatever else the day might call for, so a cold wind or an empty stomach never cuts your day short. Every so often, I’ll nudge you to stop and soak it all in. The camera should be the last thing on your mind.

6. Editing and Delivery

Your footage is backed up in multiple places from the moment we wrap, so nothing gets lost. Your Social Teaser comes first, so you have something to share right away. From there, I take my time with every film, shaping hours of footage into a story that sounds and feels like your day. Everything is delivered within four months in a private online film gallery, ready to watch and share with your people. Once it’s all ready, we’ll celebrate your elopement films and/or photos being completed with a grand reveal!
